Speech Competition Notice
Join Our English Speech Competition!
Are you ready to share your thoughts on turning failures into success? We invite all students to participate in this year’s English Speech Competition with the theme "From Sectbacks to Success: Strategies for Triumph.”
As the saying goes, “If at first you do not succeed, try, try on and on.” History is filled with inspiring examples. Emily Brontë and her sisters faced rejection and gender bias but persevered to write literary masterpieces. J.K. Rowling endured multiple rejections before Harry Potter became a global success. Helen Keller overcame blindness and deafness to show the world that persistence knows no limits. Their stories prove that persistence can turn obstacles into opportunities.
Yet sometimes, a new approach can lead to victory. Abraham Lincoln faced repeated political setbacks before becoming one of the greatest U.S. presidents. Lu Xun, after initial failures in medicine, chose literature and awakened a nation. As they showed us, “If at first you do not succeed, set yourself another goal.”
